Last week this scribler mentioned after the long word describing the flu epidemic of today and 1918, that something mite have happened west of the USA. Listen to this – stock yards near Fort Worth, TX had mountains of manure that was set on fire and it burned for 2 years. Then on May 30, 1914, Lassen Peak in California blew it’s top, spewing ash into the atmosphere that lasted until 1917. Sorta fits don’t it.
Well this has been a big week for the “Pole Fisherman”. The Cooks of Cairo did very good, the Megensons of Valdosta, a group from Lake Park, GA, some from Pensacola, all took home Shellcrackers, Bream, Catfish and Specks. Enough to feed a youth group in Lake Park, a family reunion in Cairo, the entire football team at F.S.U. and a family reunion in Pensacola. Now if that ain’t good “Pole Fishen”, grits ain’t groceries.
