This week again has been mixed down in wind, rain & more wind. On Tuesday, a couple of guys from Louisville, Kentucky took Bass at ease with several 5 to 7 lbs. Two Atlanta men fishen took 21 bass, 5 & 7 lbs. & lots of buck bass. This same two men took 16 bass & several Jack fish on spinner baits. Thursday 7 bass taken on traps up to 5 lbs., 8 bass in one boat up to 6 lbs., 15 bass taken on traps, all buck bass all released, 30 bass taken spinner baits. All released. 18 bass taken Friday, all released, on spinner baits. Richard Predmore, fishen for bass, hooked up to a 20 lb catfish & landed it. Friday the crappie took minnows, some Jim Dandys taken, 1 boat reports 2.12 crappie taken on a jig.
The Bradford Co Bassmasters of Stark, Fla.held a 2 day tourney & it went as follows:
1st place went to Preston Huckaby with 40.87 , Huckaby & Huckaby 2nd with 38.93, Corben Weldon was 3rd with 33.59 & big fish 8.40.
The Tallahassee lady bass anglers also fished out of Wingates. Mrs. Brown won it with 15.31, Mrs. Brust took 2nd with 10.27, Mrs. Scott took 3rd with 8.51, Pam Munroe had big fish a whopping big 6.44. Them gals do look good and smell wonderful.
The new Valdosta Bass Club finished 1st 21.85, 2nd 20.00, 3rd 16.00. We didn’t get the big fish.
The Jack Wingate Thursday Night Big Fish Tournament started off with a bang this last week with Reid and Grayson Heard winning with a big fish weighing 6.08 lbs.
C&R fished Sunday with these results Neel & King 1st 23.90, & big fish 6.85, 2nd Merritt & Luke 22.90, 3rd Cutright & Roy with 15.90, the wind blew the weigh in board down 3 times during weigh-in.
Brian Jennigan age 12 & Dylan Bethea of Walnut Hills, Florida caught 100 crappie, bream & shellcrackers on jigs with their feathers.
10 year old Austen Fink, fishen with his Dad James & Taurus Chapman 30 perch, 6 bass & big catfish Sat. James & Austin from Pensacola, Fla. Chapman from Jacksonville, Fla.
Jessica Avant shot her 3rd turkey within 3 years with one shot each, thing is this year she’s 8 mo. Pregnant. I guess that baby will hunt & fish, also.
Dan and Tanner Skel, of Greenwood, Indiana, with 5.8 and 7.8 pounders they caught while out on a guided trip with Guide, Mike Sloan
