I’ve seen some very exciting things this week and they are all on the plus side.  First, the Crappie has bit in very shallow water on Minnows and Jigs, 3 days in a row, they did this.

Then we come to the Saterday C&R Tournament at Wingate’s Lodge.  At 3pm, a site for these ole eyes, Jerry Kelly and Dennis McGoan weighed in 5 fish that weighed in at 32.65 lbs.  They had the Big Fish, an 8.3 lbs. big ole Sow Bass.  They were all released back into the 52° water before they froze in the 32° air.  They all lived.  When they weighed in, I left.  No one could beat that catch in the freezing weather.  Jerry sed they took em on Jigs and Big Bite Chunks.  What a catch in 23° weather when they left the dock.  It never got over 34° all day.

This scribler wonders why everyone is seeing all Jake Turkeys, some bigguns, some medium, but no hens???  Tain’t natural.

Now we got another complaint, why did the W.B.T. (Women’s Bass Tournament) get cancelled for next year?

Now, most folks know by now that Judge Megenson has ruled the negotiations between the 3 states is being done behind closed doors and the agreements sealed so many years.  Sorty like when Kennedy was kilt in Dallas, the findings were sealed for so many years.  I lost faith in one of my idels on the account of that.

We also note for this scriblers readers that the Whooping Cranes that are headed south by the glider plane every year spent Friday nite on a farm near Climax, GA on their way south.

By the way, it has been a good weekend for the Duck hunters.  New ducks were coming in ahead of this bitter cold weather.

Jerry Kelly and Dennis McGoan with their winning 32.65 lbs. catch from the C&R Tournament out of Wingate’s Lodge on Saturday.  Nice catch!
