First let me say that I think, no matter who you are, what you are, or where you come from, no matter what color your skin is, if you have a talent to sing, dance, play an instrument or whatever, you should promote that which you have. Go for broke. Make you some money, put it in local banks where you know the people and they know you.
Second, let me say that in one of those many meetings I attended during the early to mid water wars, that the Corps of Engineers made this statement, “The Appalachicola will be the first river east of the Mississippi River to dry up.”
Let me now say that we have in Decatur County so much talent, the young man at the Hutto School that built the statue of the Great Horn Bug, about 500 times the size of it, did a great job and is to be commended for his work.
We have had a stormy, windswept lake along with 95, 98, one 05 heat makes fishen tough. There were days though that limits of Bass was taken and limits of Bream also. Young Cody Spears of Tallahassee landed a 5 ½ lbs. Bass – he is 12 ½ years old.
This past Friday, a limit of Bass was taken by a Bainbridge boat, Mr. Bowden and his two young sons fishen with Al Carter took 2 limits of Bream on Crickets. Seth Powell and Tommy Arline took 75 on Crickets.
The weekly Thursday night Jack Wingate Big Bass Tournement hosted by the Hydrilla Gnats Bass Club out of Wingate’s Lunker Lodge was won by Jody & Craig Singletary with a 6. 58 pounder. Angelo Koundourakis and Andrew Adams took second with a 6.31 pounder and Matt Baty and Kyle Henderson took third with a 6.02 pounder. About 6 over 5 lbs. were taken also. It’s a 3 hour set to from 7 to 10 at $50 per boat. Great fun thing to do and cooling as the hours go by.
The Bassin’ Gals from Tallahassee fished out Saterday with Sarah Johnson winning both Big Fish “4.5 lbs.” and most weight “12.08 lbs.”. They fish till 4pm and were so hot, all were near heat stroke.
