Al Carter, my longtime friend and one of the great outdoorsmen I’ve ever met. He is untrained in the outdoors, but knows more about nature than anyone around. Al called me to come over to his house and look at a Snail he had caught. I took the camera and went. He had him in a trash can with a lid on it. He sed its an Orange Apple Snail. It was about the size of a Granna White Green Apple and was orangy in parts of its shell. He is from South America. How he made it to the mouth of the Appalachee River I have no idea. But along the seawalls of his home and neighbors, all had pink eggs hanging as far as you could see. About a big table full. Hangin on the concrete.

A group of Gator Hunters from Rome, GA, Britt Hunt, Kenneth Vasser and Keith Shipman, brought in a 12 foot Gator to be photographed. They took him to Camilla to be processed and weighed, I sed easily 400 lbs.

The Grand Finally of the Jack Wingate Big Fish Tournament was won my Terry Stevens and Clint Brown with 2 fish weighing in at 13.56 lbs.

The Hydrilla Gnats Bass Club’s monthly fish off was held today, Sunday, and was won my Chris Neely with 16.67 lbs. Nic Jeter came in second with 15.65 lbs.

A full week of catching fish on Minnows and Worms took place this week. Crappie would take Minnows but not Jigs. Many good messes showed up on the docks. Now Catfish was another good number. The Catfish came in on Worms and Stinkbait using Noodle Sticks on some. One boat reported 27 up to 5 lbs. apiece. That’s good Catfishin’.

Pam Martin-Wells came in 8th place at Clark Hill. She sed it was tuff fishin’ and a rough trip, but she made it back in one piece.

This is just a thought, what price does an Arab get for his oil as it goes into the super tankers and what does the same barrel of oil cost the American refinery???
