Seminole Ramlin's

Saterday evening last week three airboats pulled up to the docks at Wingate’s to load on a group of interested people, including myself, to take Congressman Sanford Bishop up Silver Lake Run to the small dam below the big dam. I think as well as others that the use of that part of the lake as well as other parts will be cut off to boat traffic, where as with just a small amount of dirt removal we could save Places Lake, Lily Pad Run, Carl’s Pass, Ted Kelly Hole, Tom Mann Hole and Chimney Island Hole. He promised he would look into it. He saw a Bald Eagle’s Nest and the Eagle, an Osprey, Great Blue Heron, Little Blue and an Alligator on that trip.

Dave Lardal of Redwood Falls, MN and son, Eric of Ogden, IA using Spinner Baits took 5 nice Bass. 3 over 5 lbs., Mike Sloan was their guide.

Craig Taylor had 4 Bass, one over 6 lbs. on Plastic.

The Jack Wingate Thursday Night Big Fish Tournament hosted by the Hydrilla Gnats Bass Club out of Wingate’s Lunker Lodge was won by Sean Neel and Eddie Ditto with 6.67. Leon and Randy Weaver took 2nd with 5.22. Richard Predmore and Joey Sloan took 3rd with 4.55. Bradley and Beasley took 4th with 4.43. They drew 30 boats and the winners took home $1050.00!

While I’m on tournements, young Nic Jeter traveled to Lake Russell on the Savannah River to win his Saterday morning tournament with less than 5 lbs. of fish. That is why Representative Gene Maddox sed, “We will weigh the pounds of our tournament winners over the past 10 years and compare them to anybody else’s lake in the State of Georgia!” He was getting a bill passed naming Seminole as Georgia’s best fishin hole.

I must say that Bream and Shellcracker are on the beds and being caught by anyone with a box of Crickets and the Crackers on Wigglers. He guided Mr. Johnson and Mrs. Worley Johnson 2 days and she caught her some kind of Bream. Keep a tite line and don’t let him git down in the Grass.

Sean Neel of Chattahooche, FL and Eddie Ditto of Recovery, GA with their winning catch from the Thursday Night Tournament

Joey Sloan and Richard Predmore, both of Recovery, GA with their 3rd place catch from the same tournament
