At this time, the Specks out bit the Bass, that seemed to be the case all week long.  There was some whang-dang-dilly catches of Specks in shallow water, some on Minnows & some on Jigs.  The Jigs had some 1½ & 2 lbs. Specks in their cooler as they came in to the dock.

We had several “Blue Days” this week so far as Bass is concerned.  David Mock on Tuesday had 11 Bass that totaled 16 lbs. using Carolina Rig in 14 to 17 foot of water.  That was a great catch of fish compared to what we have been having.

Bass continued slow Thursday when 47 boats launched at Wingate’s.  Most were getten ready for the Fishermen For The Hungry, who turns each $1.00 into $23.00 for food for the hungry.  This is a great cause and 40 boats turned out in 33º weather to fish the event.  Just as the event was over it started to rain, I think I would have froze to death if I hadn’t went home & got under the cover.

6th Place went to Merritt & Key, 5th Place went to Tindle & Tindle, 4th Place went to Graves & Graves, 3rd Place went to Bosem & Bowen, 2nd Place went to Stevens & Creel, 1st Place went to Clint Meeks & Al Cleghorn who put 23.88 lbs. on the scales.  Who would have thunk it.  Big Fish was a 7.58 lbs. & won $440.00.
