Seminole Ramlin's

DNR out of Waycross say they have shocked up and removed over 12,000 Flathead Catfish, that relates to over 36,000 pounds of Catfish meat.  This is being done on the SatillaRiver, they say they were illegally put there in ’96.  The river has always been known for it’s huge Bream, the Flat fish eats them as fast as they can find them.

The 7 Coves Bass Club of Conroe, TX are trying to get the Grass Carp out of the Lake so as to have some grass habitat for Bass.  Shucks, all we need to do is ship them some of these Big Gators we got, and that would do the trick.

Lake Okeechobee is down so low about 1/3 of it burnt off and now that it’s down, the Corp is scraping off the dead grass and slush down to the white sand, it should help.

We understand a Lake is being done the same way out in Louisiana.  It could work here if we had the backing.

Here on Seminole John Weaver & Grandson of Colquit, GA boated a 2.9 ½ oz. Shellcracker, called DNR of Albany, they sed bring him up there & they did and it’s the new lake record for Lake Seminole.  The Grandson caught the fish.

This has been a week for Snakes here bout the landing.  One 5 ft. Rattler, one 3 ft., then 2 big Water Moccasin killed in one man’s yard.

Bass has been slow for the most part, but Saterday things picked up for those who braved the heat & fished.  There was 4 boats that reported Bass taken, mostly small but one had one at 5 lbs.  Water in the BigLake is in the high 90°, but water coming down the Flint is in the low 80°s.  Some of the Bass were taken in the Flint.  At this riten (Sunday) we are in dark nites and fishen should hold good for the next few days.

Sorry no pictures this week.
