Seminole Ramlin's May 14, 2006 According to reliable sourses, on the Southeast Traffic Circle near the Federal Prison in Tallahassee, six lanes of traffic was stopped and wrecks almost took place, but no one was hurt, no vehicles damaged, when a mother led her babies across the six lanes of traffic and her husband shewed the brood along. It jest happened to be Ma and Pa Goose crossing West to East after feeding in a small field of grass with seeds. No one complained and the whole she bang made it across and back to the holding pond of the prison. For those of you that don’t know, Mr. and Mrs. Goose marry for life without vows! Strange ain’t it? We have had a good week on Bream, Shellcrackers and Catfish. Some of the Bream will be about hand size and bigger and the Shellcrackers are even bigger with all the Snails they have to eat. At this riten, “Sat nite” there was 4 active beds in site of Bass Island Campground. We got word mid-week of the results of the Valdosta Bass Busters tournement out of Wingate’s on Saterday and Sunday of last week. 1st place on Saterday went to Tom Ridley with 14 lbs. On Sunday he won with 13.04 lbs. He also had Big Fish with 6.14 lbs. The Bainbridge Bass Club fished out of Wingate’s on Saterday. Richard Predmore won the event with 15.5 lbs. He had Big Fish with a 4.74 lbs. The Talquin Hooker’s fished out of Wingate’s on Saterday too with Mrs. Sarah Johnson winning that event. She also had the Big Fish. As always we have a problem with the Alabama and Georgia timing. The two towers that cover the Lake, one Georgia time and one Alabama time, is very confusing to the contestants. Needs fixin’! We here tell that the meeting of concerned citizens in Donalsonville was near a complete flop as could be. The Georgia DNR and the Georgia EPA was not aware of the meeting. “Things” were handed to the Corps that they had never heard of, yet it was in print in all the local papers. Just a circus that’s all. For more of Jack's writing see his books, available only at Wingate's
