Seminole Ramlin's June 18, 2006 Hybreds seem to be the headliner this week on Seminole. Jist a hop and a skip behind Bream, Perch and Bass. Lordie-Mercy they have showed theyself all over the lake all week long. Dallas Johnson and his grandson, Cody Spears, had a whopping stringer up to 7 ½ lbs. Dallas is a whiz at dressing them for the frying pan. His grandson is one of the youngest pros in the field. He is about 13 years of age and already has a sponser to help him fish. He is shown also releasing 2 nice Bass back into Lake Seminole. One boat limited 3 times with Hybreds this week using live Shad. That is the best bait that I know of for Mr. Hybred. There was some good-uns taken on Spoons and Crank Baits. Local Angler Charlie Hill took 3 Bass on Blade Baits that tipped his deliers at 18 lbs. of fish. He released them all alive. Many limit ketches of Bream were taken off beds with Crickets and Fly Rods. Don’t look in the old places. Look for them in 2 feet of water, the water slitely colored and they will hit better in dingy water than in clear. We got word that this past Thursday a man on Lake Talquin landed 3 – 10 lbs. Bass out of schools. That is a good mess of fish. Ideal for a tournement fisherman. The water law as it has been, one local boat owner couldn’t stand it. He went to Kennedy Creek and took home 100 of the finest Bream they have ever caught. But one thing he did say, the “Yellow Flies” will eat you alive. Speckle Perch on Jigs has been a hot item here on ole Sem. Morning time seems to be the best, with many good catches of Perch made but, now, now one did good in the afternoon. The Preacher man from Tallahassee has loaded up on the Hoochee with heavy Bass. He says his best bait is Plastic in thick grass. Take your pick, the fishen is good. I would like to take a moment to thank a great person who came to work for me one week during Boys Camp and stayed on for 20 years. “Mrs. Jessie Inman”, one of the Jones girls from Perry.
The pictures are of Cody Spears, grandson of Sarah and Dallas Johnson of Recovery, GA with two of his nice Bass and of Dallas Johnson and Cody Spears with some Hybrids they caught.
