Seminole Ramlin's January 29, 2006 The Duck Season is now over for this year. It was the best in a lot of years. There was a whole lot of Geese taken and many kinds of Ducks. Great Season! The first tournament of the year for Fishermen For The Hungry boated 61 boats. The total weight winner was Steve Phillips and Lance Minia, Holister and Wilkerson took 2nd Place. Big Fish went to Sam Moody, a Big 7.82 lbs. There was 486 lbs. of fish taken in 197 head. All swam away alive. These folks will be back 2 more times this year. The Valley Sportsman Tournement Trail will be here February 26th and May 21st. They usually have near 40 to 50 boats. “Doc” has sold it, Mr. Ronnie can be reached at ga_appl@bellsouth.net. Saterday Mr. Eddy Ditto took 6 good Bass from the Creek on Plastic. He will join Pam Martin-Wells, and Stephen, along with Mike Sloan from Wingate’s at the Fisherama in Atlanta for the entire show. I saw people this past weekend that I haven’t seen in 20 years and was real glad to see them. One such man had Bobby Isler for a guide. Both Saterday and Sunday the Perch just gave way to the wind, rain and high water. No one reported anything at all. At the tournament we met Paul Tyre’s wife and 2 month old baby. Such a joy. Also, we were pleased to see Leon Roy the 5th and in the double baby buggy was Leon Roy the 6th and 7th. Great week of outdoor sports.
The picture is of Steve Phillips and Lance Minia with the fish that took first place in the Fishermen For The Hungry Tournament out of Wingates on Saturday.
