Seminole Ramlin's December 3, 2006 Whoa! What done happen to the crowd of Duck Hunters we normaly see this past Saterday, well they were here and for 2 ½ hours they roared like a war was on and then as though a blanket of cloud lowered upon them, it all became quiet as a mouse in the kitchen, why???? Because the Duck Season ran out “November 26th” then it will resume “December 9 to January 28th”, that why!!! Many out of state hunters were not aware of this!!!? Some I asure were caught and changed as, I think, it was planned by the D.N.R. This is the Duck Season regs for this season, Nov. 8 to Nov. 26 & Dec. 9 to Jan. 28. This year one Canvas Back per day all season long. We have here at Wingate’s a sure fire winner of great perporshions. Our own Jeri Dawn Sloan won 1st place in the Gymnastics Meet lately in Macon and just this past Saterday won 1st place in the Atlanta Competition. She is the daughter of Beth & Mike Sloan of Wingate’s and a very fine young lady I asure you. Some 9 years old, and in my believe, she’s headed for the top in gymnastics. We have seen this week some very fine catches of Bass, some came on Rattle Traps, some came on Plastic, it seems like there is no end to the fine catches of Bass in Ole Sem this year. And as I’ve sed before, clean as a whistle. Catfish are feeding steady at 25 feet on Wigglers. We’ve had catches made each day. Monday a friend caught 25 and dressed them for me and Miss Joyce. Some kind of good eating. Some fine Speckle Perch was brought in all week long on Jigs. Lots were brought in on Minnows but the big ones are mostly on Jigs. They are at 20 foot level. The reason for our low water is that they are filling
Blackshear & Lake Worth from the Flint. The picture is of William “Gizmo” Roton
of Recovery, GA with a nice Bass he caught on Friday night. For more of Jack's writing see his books, available only at Wingate's
