Seminole Ramlin's April 9, 2006 The Rose City Bass’ 6th Annual Shoot Out here at Wingate’s was a great success. 3rd place went to Alan Lamb and Lee Boutwell with 20.82 lbs. 2nd place went to Pam and Steven Wells with 22.84 lbs. 1st place went to Donald Brinson and Jody Jarber with 34.06 lbs. Big Fish went to Michael Lonely and Troy Arthur with an 8.08 lbs. What a great turnout and a good crowd looking on. We got word on N.W. FL Guys and Gals Club Saterday that Mr. and Mrs. Lawton Rockman won it with 20 lbs. They also had Big Fish with 6.12 lbs. The big tournament at White City was won by MacLamore with 26 lbs. of Bass. She is a good fisherman. She bout out fishes her husband most every day. One fisherman reported he took his lure away from an osprey twict Friday. We have been noticing how many tare marks are on the bellies of the Bass being released lately. Osprey and Eagle claws make those. We notice in the Tennessee paper that the Shad Minnows are gone out of the Appalacheecola River. The Fish are starving for food, same way the fish in the Classic was, they was starving. The point I make is that GA, FL, and AL would do well to copy the state of TX. They have several hatcheries around the state producing tons of thread fin shad and when a lake or stream shows signs of loosing it’s Shad, they begin to dump truck load after truck load of Shad in the waters. That makes a lot of sence to be, fishin is a saleable comoditie. In Jesup, GA the chamber of commerce has a $50,000 reward if the state record Catfish is taken in that county. They also have a $100,000 reward posted for the world’s record if it is caught in that county. Someone else thinks fishen is a saleable comoditie.
