Seminole Ramlin's

May 22, 2005

Believe or not, there is on the market now, bumper stickers that read, “GA, the only state in the nation that is totally run by the D.N.R.”.

The 5 Flags Bass Club of Pensacola is doing very good with their tournement. Lots of action on the top water for them. I had to have help on the Five Flags. First, there was Spanish, French, English, Confederate and American. A great Bass Club and most of them knows how to lay a lure to the fish.

By noon Friday, a Florida boat had 30 Bream and 15 Specks. Mike Sloan, one of the owners of Wingates, made a 1 ½ hour trip and took a big mess of Specks. He’s got them cornered some wheres, don’t know where.

Also, by noon Friday, 2 small boats had landed 33 Bass and took out headin’ for home. The wind got too heavy on them small boats.

We have done real well on Catfish this week. There at this time there is no limit on Catfish, but soon there will be. 1 boat, 2 men fishen in 4 days boated over 300 Channell Cats. That is a lot of fish to skin. They also had a 12 lbs. Channell Cat. I could have made a wash pot full of Catfish Chowder. Channel Catfish so small you don’t have to slice them is one of my favorite meals. They sure do eat good with salt, cole slaw and onion.

Jim Merritt and his partner, Mr. Henderson won the Tri-States Bass Tournement today and they also got the Big Fish.

We give you this as part of nature, “Put a full grown buzzard in a 4 x 4 fence 5 ft. high and he’ll set there and kill hiself trying to get out without never looking up. Put a bat on the floor in a house and he can’t fly off the floor. Put a hummen bird in an open goblet and it will never look up and will die in the goblet.

The velvet of a buck deer is the fastest growing flesh known to man. It also turns into the hardest bone known to man. Native Americans have used the deer antler to chip and shape flint.

The picture is of Merritt and Henderson with some of their nice catch from Sunday.
