Seminole Ramlin's

May 16, 2004

What bizness does a Bald Eagle have setting in the middle of Hiway 97 near the Murray Tomato Plant eating on a fresh killed Armadillo?

Glory to the man who stopped his car in traffic to pick up 5 real little baby Mallard Ducks and saving their lives. The traffic killed 3 and 3 more was taken by people into their houses to be eaten by dogs and cats. Some kind of hero.

There will be a meeting in Albany, GA at Darton College for the Dove hunters to discuss having a longer dove season.

We wonder how many people know why the military funerals have a 21 gun salute to the fallen Veteran. Well, it’s like this, add up the numbers of 1776, when the war of independence started. They come to 21 and now you know. There is a lot more to the folding of the flag 13 times, but space runs out about now.

We saw pontoon boats circleing the Shellcracker beds over the weekend and box after box of Bream and Crackers came to the dock.

Farm ponds produced good Bass and Bream for the people who tried them. A small boat took 28 Bass in 2 hours with 3 people fishen.

The Hopewell Methodist Church in Bettstown celebrated its 100th year in the same building. How about them apples?

Reggie Calhoun of Tallahassee layed 21.33 lbs. of Bass on the scales to win the TriStates monthly tournement out of Wingates. Jerry McKinney won a trophy for his type of fishen, Jiggen a Rattle Trap in 2 foot of water with an ounce of head. Ryan Hill of Tallahassee had Big Fish with 6.54 lbs.

The Valley Sportsman fished also on this weekend with Rick and Bob Tinnell of Leesburg winning with 25.92 lbs. of Bass. The team of Keith Scorpal and Joel Milner had Big Fish with 7.97 lbs. It was a great tournement with 7 limits of fish over 20 lbs. 10th place was 17.46 lbs. This ole grassy lake keeps on producing good strings of fish.

Valdosta Christian Bassmasters fished also with Bobby Brooks winning at 15.92 lbs., Robby Brooks had 15.65 lbs. and Michael Cornelious at 12.75 lbs. and Big Fish at 5.39 lbs.

Butch Tucker won the BFL at Oconee with 12.2 lbs. of fish. Many fish was caught, but one must have a 14 inch fish to weigh him in on that lake. The weekend was mostly cloudy on Seminole and that alone was a very big plus.
