Seminole Ramlin's January 4, 2004 Folks whuts old enough to remimber using a mule, straight stock, scooten & sweep in peanuts will relate to this I’m sure. We had a small red mule that I like to use but I’ll be doggone if she wouldn’t git one hind leg over the trace chain at the end of every row. Now she wouldn’t kick you, but she’d stomp her foot, letting you know she didn’t like you mess round her feet. Grandaddy Henry Bates didn’t want no chain marks on his mules nor horses. So it was to git down, undo the single tree, slip the chain around the foot, then go back to the next row. This old time experence lets me know exactly what Ben Franklin was talking about getting a committee to help Thomas Jefferson rite the Declaration of Independence. Old Ben rapt on the table to get attention sayin, “Thomas Jefferson is our best riter, let him do it and if he needs help, then we’ll help him.” He said, “Commetees greatly reminds him of a jackass with 4 hind legs.” I would sure hate to plow anything with 4 hind legs. On the 1/4/04, some ole boys from Zebulon and McRae, GA, took 9 Ring Necks from a boat blind, some folks can find them and some folks cain’t. Lots of ducks were here mid-week but must have left come Saterday morning. This past Saterday, Ed Griffin and side kick Nick Proehl took 5 Bass that hit near 20 lbs. of Fish. Then on Sunday a boat from Tifton had 3 nice Fish. However, there is a bad change coming in the weather what’s here today ain’t gonna be for the Bobby Dews next week. Let’s hope it works out good for the Tournement since it’s a charitee for the Children’s Miricle Network. We have seen Big Bass roaming in shallow water all week, but shirt sleeve weather is the cause of this. However, I must remind you that last Friday, January 1, 1985, our temp here was 06 degrees. All the ponds froze over, ducks had to lite in open water. The Specks fishen is as slow as gitten money from home. You jist git a bite here and a bite younder. I sure hope they turn round soon and go to eatin everything in site. Bream seems to be staying in Rays Lake and Lewis Pond. 2 places up there they have gathered bout 100 to the place. Keep chuckin, next cast mite be it.
