Seminole Ramlin's

February 15, 2004

Not that I know for sure, but a friend tole me that there is a law in Alabama that says when the General Assembly is in session in Montgomery, no member of that body can be arrested except, a few things. But not fighting, D.U.I. the officer who stops one has to take him home and see that his car is took to his home too, some law.

With the week of heavey rain the Cypress Ponds that connect and run during wet weather has started to connect from the Upper End. The dark amber water is in Rays Lake and Lewis Pond giving them a dark color instead of clear. We feel before long some muddy water will reach that area. The mud has already reached the bridge at 253 on the Creek when its muddy. Them Bass over there take on a better attitude when they cain’t read the name on the plug. The Flint and Chattahoochee is muddy and running fast, at this riten all gates are open on Jim Woodruff Dam.

The Seminole Division of B.F.L. a brand new division of BFL had it’s first tournement out of Wingates Saterday. 122 boats Fished the event, 6 limits of Fish was caught, it rained the entire day. Jerry Kelly of Wewa was third, Butch Tucker of Moultry was second with 20.5 lbs. of Bass. Greg Gaston was first with 21.2 lbs. of Bass. Jason Alderman of Chipley had Big Fish on the Boaters side with an 8.4 lbs. of Bass.

On the Co-Angler side which means “he sits in the back of the boat”, the 3rd place went to Chris Prowant of Gainsville, Fla. Ron Little of Youngstown, Fla. was 2nd with 3 Fish at 12.3 then Tom Ridley of Valdosta had 5 Fish at 13.10 lbs. 122 of the Co-Anglers fished, 2 limits were caught. Jeff Langent of Melbourne, Fla. had the Big Fish at 7.14. Such was the back seaters.

The Valley Sportsman Tournement Trail launched 72 boats on Sunday morning with a brisk breeze that couldn’t make up it’s mind which way to blow, but when it finely made up it’s mind, it did blow. 10 or 12 limits of Fish was caught and the Biggest Fish ever weighed in the Valley Trail was layed on the scales. Mr. Henry and Mr. Bozeman of Savannah at 27.76 and a Big Fish of 8.20. Mr. Hollister and Wilkerson of Sneeds had 20.51 and a Big Fish of 7.01. Mr. Stagle and Mr. Partridge of Albany caught an 8.39 to cap off the top weight. The Big Stringer of Fish was on a Large Rattle Trap over 6 feet of water.

We are ready for the Bulldog Division of of B.F.L. next Saterday.
