Seminole Ramlin's December 19, 2004 If I’m not mistaken, this past Sunday was the 62nd annaversory of the Battle of the Bulge in WWII. Some 19,000 of our finest men died in that battle. Some were frozen to death, but all were marked for life from the efforts in that battle. Freedom ain’t free and never will be. 82 years ago WPAX located in Thomasville went on the air. It was the 3rd radio station in Georgia after WSB in Atlanta and WMAZ in Macon and the 12th to go on the air in the whole nation. Mr. Whimpy was the owner and for those who would like to know, WPAX is Latin for Peace. This past Saterday morning proved that the Duck Hunting has improved out on the lake. The guns were sounding good for about 45 minutes then tapered off a little but still activity going on. We had several boats out for Bass over the weekend. Most of them did good on Bass, one of them was Troy Arthur with a 7 pounder on a Spinner Bait. He has a touch with a Blade. Perch Fishing has improved a little with wind calming a little bit. Several boats were out and quite a few Perch were taken. One boat had 12 in 2 hours and that’s better than it’s been being. The Deer Hunters has had a good streak of luck Saterday. Some 11 deer was taken near us. Some days they walk and some days they don’t. We here at Wingates wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy
New Year. It means a lot to us.
