Seminole Ramlin's

August 29, 2004

One moment in history just needs remembering, Mr. Ken Lantry of Thomasville is a survivor of the “Cincinnati”. The ship was a cruiser, I think, and all but 175 drowned in the Pacific Ocean. My hat is off to Mr. Lantry.

The second this week marks the passing of Sgt. Alvin York of Tennessee in 1964. York Field in Fort Benning is named after him. He was an objector to the killing the war. He killed many of the enemy and captured bout 150 or so by himself. This was in WWI. A national hero of his day.

Big wild dog with full grown turkey in his mouth leaving International Paper land going across into Miller Property. Wild dogs is bad on a man’s land, however, soon as them big old long tail cats smells him, he’ll be long gone and good riddance.

Mr. Cantley, Mr. Key and son Steven took a big pile of Specks this week. Steven Key, near 5, goes by the name “T-Bone”. He fishes early to late and hates to quit. Don’t know what he’ll do when he has to go to school. Let him fish at nite I guess.

Keenan Adams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Adams of Bainbridge, last year made the Grand Slam of Turkey Hunting by killing all 4 species of Turkey in the Northern Hemisphere. He has already begun agin by killing the first ever Osellated in Southern Mexico with a bow and arrow.

We note that Miss Haley Rathel pitched a no hitter in fast pitch softball. You see, the woods is full of real honest to goodness heros and Miss Rathel is a hero in my book. Nice work young lady. You make us proud.

Big Allie, known in the Bassen Circuit as “Mr. Spinner Bait”, went out of this world rasslin’ a Big Bass on Eastapogee Lake in Central Florida. What a way to go.

The Bream and Perch is the Fish of the Week with small Hybrids and Bass second. By Bass and Hybrids 95% of what is being caught is small and needs to be released. Some of the Bream beds have silted in but others are just building. We sure hope they will continue into October. They are a lot of fun.

The Tournement Pro’s are on the Lake almost every day cept’n Monday. We wish them well. Some are catching, some are not. All are saying Fishen is tough. Dog Days is always tough.

Like I’ve sed many times before, “I never met a kidney stone I liked.”
