Seminole Ramlin's

April 11, 2004

T’was April 14th, 1929 that Mr. and Mrs. A-I Dixie of Quincy, Fla. were married. They are still married, still living and still happy. Congrats to you on your 75th Wedding Anniversary.

One of our local folks went to the doctor with a bad case of the Shingles. Doc told him they were so bad off he couldn’t help him, he’d have to get a “roofer” to nail them shingles.

More and more folks is complaining about no Shellcracker beds. Now folks is complaining about no Bream beds. Well, I ain’t shore about this, but fish beds is this year like the fields of tomato plants. They are stunted by the cold nites. The tomatoes are stunted and are squaty looking.

Owls are being reported on the Lake, picking up folk’s Top Water Baits and Floating Worms. I can tell you from experience, Owls, Osprey and other birds are nard to get off a hook if they are still alive.

At this point in time, early Easter morning, my belly is so full of Speckle Perch I can hardly waddle. The Specks can be had.

Dave Martin of Cincinnati took a 6 lbs. Bass on a Crappie Jig with 4 lbs. test line and landed him. We were able to get a picture of the fish before it swam off.

Some folks from Southern Illinois who use to fish with guides, Hester, Kelly and Jerry Sims fished, landing some very fine fish.

John Dunlap of Atlanta, fishing from a brand new Ranger Fishing Platform, pulled by a new pick-up, says the Bass fishen is great, but them Hybreds are a line stretcher. 2 lbs. Hybreid will get your drag to smoke.

Many good strings of Perch made it to the dock this week and lots of folks were happy, specially a neet family from Sparks, GA. Mostly fishen minnows.

For the bowhunters, the 36th annual Carperee will take place at Wingates on May 1 and 2.

Very good is this Pepsi sign, “You can be young only once, but immature forever.”
